경추 C7(척추 돌출부)

C7, also known as vertebra prominens, is located between the C6 and the first thoracic vertebra (T1). This vertebra is considered atypical for the presence of a longer and single (not bifid) spinous process, which makes it easy to palp, and smaller transverse foramina for the passage of small accessory veins only. Similarly to the other cervical verebrae, C7 has a central body and two superior articular facets that articulates with C6. Along with the other cervical vertebrae, the role of C7 is to provide mobility and support, while also connecting the cervical and thoracic spines.
